To move all the cards to the foundations.
| • | 8 foundation piles (across top) - build up in suit from Ace to King, wrapping from King to Ace as necessary, until each pile contains 26 cards. Only two piles for each suit allowed. |
| • | 13 tableau piles (below foundations) - build down by alternate color, wrapping from Ace to King as necessary. Groups of cards in sequence down by alternate color may be moved as a unit. Spaces may be filled only by Kings. At the start of the game 1 card is dealt to the first pile, 3 to the 2nd, 5 to the 3rd, 7 to the 4th, 9 to the 5th, 11 to the 6th, 13 to the 7th, 12 to the 8th, 10 to the 9th, 8 to the 10th, 6 to the 11th, 4 to the 12th, and 2 to the 13th. |
